Why Self checis Different
Why Self chec is Different
The story goes that in ancient China the citizens paid their doctors a pre-determined amount in yen, (their money), for each day they were well.
Our yen is defined a little differently, but in the long run it means the same. We want you to keep yourself well enough to live a long and healthy life — all you have to do to pay us back is promise to practice the health prevention and wellness points on our website.
The language of sickness is completely different than the language of prevention and wellness. We hope that by learning about the latter, you will keep from having to deal with the former. Self chec has created an entirely new, compelling approach to personal healthcare. In addition to the important research being done on cancer, heart disease and other chronic diseases, we want to place greater emphasis on identifying and eliminating the obstacles that keep us from properly taking care of ourselves; the fear, malaise. denial, etc., so we can all reduce the odds of getting sick in the first place. We promise to do this, not only by acknowledging your fears, but by keeping you honest and on-message about becoming more pro-active. Keeping healthy is much easier than being sick, so it shouldn’t be too difficult for you to do once you know how to.
If not for yourself than for others who care about you
Much evidenced-based research points to the fact that people will take better care of themselves if they are asked to do so by others, like doctors or loved ones. Self chec’s one-to-one communicated tools were created to support this motivational research.
What Self chec offers
The Self chec Web site contains comprehensive reliable information from respected medical sources. With Self chec, you won’t have to rely on more than one resource to obtain information about prevention, screening and early detection of certain cancers, heart diseases, diabetes and obesity, which can often be very confusing. You can also sign-up yourself, as well as others, for an ehealth reminder that won’t let you forget to do important self-checks, and call your healthcare professional for a yearly exam and early detection screenings. Our self-check videos will actually show you how to check, too. On our CaringCard Shoppe you can send positive and supportive keeping healthy messages to friends and family. Join our Blog and be introduced to our new mascot, Well.i.am, the ostrich, created by Peter DeSéve, the artist who developed the characters for the Ice Age movies, and there is much, much more…
