How you can help prevent
DIABETES

Diabetes is a disease in which blood glucose levels are above normal. People with diabetes have problems converting food to energy. Diabetes can lead to heart attack and stroke, blindness, and kidney failure. The good news is that “adult-onset diabetes” (Type 2 diabetes) can be prevented, or at least slowed among people at risk. You might be at risk for type 2 diabetes if, you have a family history of diabetes, are overweight, are 45 or over, have high blood pressure and/or are not physically active .

Keys ways to reduce your risk of getting type 2 diabetes?

Lose weight (be a Scale Downer)

Exercise (be a Mover & Shaker)

Eating Right (be a Sound Biter)

So, if you are at risk for diabetes:

Get moving and keep moving at least 30 minutes a day. Be a Mover & Shaker

Lose weight. Be a Scale Downer

At your annual check-up, talk to your doctor every year about your risk of getting diabetes.
